OSHKOSH, Wis. - Oshkosh Defense, LLC, an Oshkosh Corporation company, will feature the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) and P-19R Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) at this year’s Modern Day Marine military expo, September 19-21 at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia.
The Oshkosh JLTV on display at Modern Day Marine is outfitted with a Boeing Compact Laser Weapon System (CLWS) and a Kongsberg M230LF Remote Weapon Station (RWS) to demonstrate the vehicle’s ability to support multiple lethality requirements for its many possible mission profiles.
The JLTV program is currently in Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and remains on-schedule, on-budget and is completing reliability and performance test activities as well as logistics supportability evaluations around the country. The program anticipates a Full Rate Production decision in FY19, with the first Army unit equipped by mid-FY19 and both Army and Marine Corps Initial Operating Capability (IOC) in early FY20.
The P-19R on display at the show is a representation of the vehicles that began fielding in June earlier this year. The vehicle platform combines the combat-proven Oshkosh Logistics Vehicle System Replacement (LVSR) and the technologically advanced Striker firefighting systems from Oshkosh Airport Products. Oshkosh began fielding the first P-19Rs in June of 2017 and in total, Oshkosh will deliver 164 P-19Rs through 2019.
