SEOUL - South Korea performed a live-fire test of its TAURUS cruise missile September 12. The TAURUS is an advanced air-launched cruise missile intended for use in pre-emptive strikes against North Korean missile and other sites. South Korean F-15 fighters carry the TAURUS missile.

South Korea is accelerating efforts to enhance its defenses in the face on increasing tensions with Pyongyang.
