WASHINGTON -- UIC Science LLC, Barrow, Alaska, has been awarded a $7,664,917 firm-fixed-price contract, from the United States Air Force, for remedial action construction activities. The contract provides for the full range of activities necessary to perform redial action construction and site closeout.
Work will be performed at Barter Island Long Range Radar Station, Alaska, which was a sector of the Distant Early Warning Line (DEW Line) originally established to detect incoming Soviet Bombers during the Cold War and is now known as the North Warning System.
The work expected to be complete by April 19, 2019.
This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition. Fiscal 2017 Defense Environmental Restoration Act funds in the amount of $7,664,917 are being obligated at the time of award.
