DONINGTON ON BAIN, UK -- Hobson Industries has been selected as one of the partners in the BAE Systems Team contracted by the UK MoD to provide Post Design Services (PDS) for the British Army’s Pinzgauer, Land Rover and Light Trailer fleets. Others on the team include Penman MW Engineering.

The two-year contract will see the BAE Systems-led team, based in Telford, Shropshire, deliver support services to keep the vehicles ready for operational use at all times. There is also the possibility to make significant modifications, including the addition of a Roll-Over Protection System for both Pinzgauer and Land Rover.

Peter Hobson, Managing Director of Hobson Industries said: "We are delighted to be part of the BAE Systems Land Rover PDS Team and look forward to working with them to provide the engineering solutions required for the sustainment of the fleet. Hobsons’ long-held capability in support of the MoD and Dutch Land Rover Wolf fleets gives the Team a key engineering capability which can be transferred to the support of the Pinzgauer fleet. Our capabilities in design and build of short run parts from drawings supplied by Land Rover and the MoD and our ability to provide Asset Managed approved parts are key to the sustainment of both the Land Rover Wolf and Pinzgauer until end of life. We are strengthening our engineering and management team to meet the challenging demands of this contract to keep the MoD’s fleet 24/7 capable. This capability has also attracted interest from other international armies who use Land Rover and other vehicles."
