FI/DMS Launches Components Forecasting Products
PARIS, [June 15, 2003] ―
Forecast International/DMS announces the introduction of new products
offering detailed market analyses and 10-year production forecasts for three
major aircraft component categories. The Market for Commercial Aircraft
Passenger Seats 2003-2012, The Market for Commercial Aircraft Passenger Doors,
Cargo Doors and Emergency Exits 2003-2012 and The Market for Commercial
Aircraft Windows and Windshields 2003-2012 are the first in a line of
aircraft components forecasting products being developed by Forecast International.
The products will give Forecast's clients unparalleled insights into the
component production requirements associated with civil aircraft manufactured
worldwide.
These unique forecasting resources contain precise
information on the seating, window and door requirements of more than 50
turbofan- and turboprop-powered airliners currently in production. In addition
to market analyses by aircraft type (consisting of medium/large aircraft and
commuter/regional aircraft), the forecasts include 10-year production spread
sheets, supporting graphic illustrations and other research data.
The aircraft seating forecast assesses the industry's need
for first class, business class and coach class passenger seats, quantifying a
significant shift toward higher coach class production rates toward the end of
the decade. The windows and windshields forecast describes the industry's need
for some 730,000 passenger windows and 56,000 windshields through the year
2012. The aircraft door forecast tracks installation of more than 40,000
passenger doors, 24,000 emergency exits and 17,000 cargo doors in aircraft to
be produced over the next 10 years.
Utilizing Forecast International's civil aircraft production
forecasting database, these forecasts incorporate specific component quantities
for aircraft variants and subvariants. The result is a line of comprehensive,
easy-to-use marketing tools that should prove invaluable to contractors and
subcontractors in the seating, window and door segments of the aircraft industry.
"These are just the first in a number of planned aerospace components
market forecasting products," said Douglas A. Nebinger, president of Forecast
International/DMS. "The next components product, currently in development,
will enable clients to make online inquiries about specific commercial aircraft
components and market segments. At a fraction of the cost of more wide-ranging
studies, this customer-specified information will be generated for download or
printout almost instantaneously."
Nebinger added that the constantly expanding components
database will enhance the company's proprietary research capacity. In addition
to its new-production analysis capability, the database will ultimately be able
to predict aftermarket replacement of components on aircraft already in
service.
