Tough Competition
Forecast International/DMS., a Connecticut-based provider of aerospace analysis and intelligence, predicts the world market for fighter, attack, trainer aircraft could reach 3,500 units in the next ten years. Boeing would lead with more than 600 aircraft worth in excess of $27 billion, the Eurofighter consortium would capture second place with $21 billion in sales. In addition, during the period, Boeing and Lockheed Martin would face increasingly stiff competition from European manufacturers.
