ANKARA -- The Turkish Army has taken delivery of additional armed unmanned air vehicles (UAVs). The Bayraktar TB2 UAV is locally manufactured by Baykar Makina.

These armed UAVs will increase the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) air support capability. Turkish troops are currently involved in Operation Euphrates Shield and Operation Olive Branch in northern Syria. Baykar Makina delivered four armed UAVs in October. A further eight armed UAVs have arrived.

The Turkish inventory of Bayraktar TB2 UAVs now stands at 34. An addition six UAVs are used by the National Police and six more are operated by the Gendarmerie Command.
