RENTON, Wash. -- Boeing Commercial Airplanes recorded orders for 28 aircraft in the month of January. The U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon program ordered seven 737-800As. The U.K. P-8 program ordered three 737-800As. A business jet/VIP customer ordered one 737 MAX. Other unidentified customers ordered 17 737 MAXs.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes delivered a total of 44 aircraft during January. This total includes six 737 MAXs, 23 737-800s, two 737-800As, one 747-8F, one 767-300F, three 777-300ERs, and eight 787-9s.
As of January 31, 2018, the order backlog for Boeing Commercial Airplanes totaled 5,831. Unfilled orders broken down by aircraft type were as follows: 4,648 for the 737, 11 for the 747, 97 for the 767, 425 for the 777, and 650 for the 787.
The backlog at the end of January 2018 represents a decrease compared to the yearend-2017 backlog, which had totaled 5,864. Both figures are increases compared to the company's yearend-2016 order backlog of 5,715.
