BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. - Kearfott Corp. has been awarded an exclusive contract with Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) to design, develop, and qualify a control stick assembly (CSA) for the new KAI Korean Fighter eXperimental (KF-X) aircraft program.
Under the contract, Kearfott will provide passive CSAs to KAI that will be incorporated into the cockpit of the new KF-X. The CSA is a key flight critical component that allows the pilot to effortlessly direct highly-maneuverable aircraft such as the KF-X under high g-force conditions and in combat situations. Placed on one side of the cockpit, the CSA can be grasped with one hand to easily fly the aircraft using small motions to control pitch and roll.
"Kearfott is proud to be a part of this amazing program and is honored to have been selected to provide the control stick assembly for the KF-X," said Product Line Director of Kearfott’s Motion Systems Division Andrea Davis. "This assembly is a direct result of the extensive experience Kearfott has in designing and manufacturing best-in-class position sensors and controls for the aerospace and defense markets."
