PATRIOT SAMS DOWN MORE THAN 100 YEMENI MISSILES

RIYADH - Saudi Arabia is defending its territory with the Patriot air defense system. Since 2015, the Patriot system has interceptored more than 100 missiles fired by Houthi rebels in Yemen. These missiles targeted sites in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Recently, a Patriot battery interceptored a ballistic missile fired at Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Iran is accused of supplying missiles to the Houthi rebels.

Raytheon says demand for its missile defense systems is increasing. There is growth in the European market, a result of the missile threat.
