WASHINGTON - The U.S. State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Norway for AIM-120 C-7 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAMs). The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on November 14, 2017.

Norway requested the possible sale of 60 AIM-120 C-7 AMRAAMs and four AMRAAM guidance section spares. Along with other items and support services, this deal is worth $170 million.

This sale will enhance the Royal Norwegian Air Force’s ability to defend Norway against future threats and contribute to current and future NATO operations. This is a follow-on buy of additional AIM-120 C-7 missiles.

The prime contractor will be Raytheon Missile Systems, Tucson, Arizona.
