Forecast International

TOKYO - The South Korean government is uninterested in an opposition proposal for the deployment of U.S. nuclear weapons on the peninsula. The United States withdrew its nuclear weapons stored in South Korea in 1991.

Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon is against this redeployment. Lee did say "nuclear submarines" are a different issue and South Korea should think about introducing "nuclear submarines."
