NEW DELHI - The United States is prepared to sell Guardian unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) to India. The Guardian is a member of the Predator UAV family designed by General Atomics. India could receive 22 Guardian UAVs under this proposed $2-3 billion deal.

The Indian Navy wants these UAVs to perform intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Washington in the near future. During this visit, Modi and President Donald Trump will discuss the regional security situation and ways to enhance cooperation in bilateral areas of strategic importance.
