HARBIN, China - The Y-12F utility turboprop aircraft received type certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in December 2015. The Y-12F was developed by Harbin Aircraft Industry (Group) Company Ltd (HAIG), a subsidiary of Aviation Industry Corp of China (AVIC).
The Y-12F can accommodate 19 passengers or three LD3 cargo containers. It is intended for use in such roles as passenger transport, maritime surveillance, supplies airdrop, aerial telemetry and photography, geological prospecting, and medical aid and rescue. HAIG has received nearly 50 confirmed or intended orders for the Y-12F from a number of domestic and international customers, including Las Vegas-based Coptervision, AVIC International Holding Corp, and China Flying Dragon General Aviation Company Ltd.
The Y-12F is equipped with the Honeywell Primus Apex integrated avionics suite.
