NEWTOWN, Conn. - Forecast International projects the U.S. Army to spend some $266 million on its C3 Technology program over the next decade. The U.S. Army's want to enhance its ability to deliver information to the battlespace is driving this program's projected funding stream.
The Command, Control, Communications (C3) Technology program is a U.S. Army R&D effort. The program researches and develops communications technologies, command and control (C2), and electronics systems and subsystems that provide the Army with enhanced capabilities for secure, mobile, networked communications, assured information delivery, and presentation of information that enables decision-making.
Despite pressure placed upon the Obama administration to cut federal government spending, FI believes the U.S. Army's C3 Technology program will be well funded in the coming years. According to a U.S. Army FY12 budget document, planned spending for the program averages $27 million per year for the next 5 fiscal years.
