IAI AND CZECH MINISTRY OF DEFENSE SIGN CONTRACT FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND MAINTENANCE OF MMR RADARS
PRAGUE - Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and the Czech Ministry of Defence have inked a 20-year contract focusing on the sustainability and maintenance of Multi-Mission Radars (MMR) in the Czech Republic, incorporating industrial cooperation with Czech companies RETIA and VTU.
The MMR, a cornerstone in Israel's defense systems including Barak, David's Sling, and Iron Dome, is known for its precise aerial situational awareness. Globally, 200 MMR systems have been sold, offering capabilities to simultaneously track multiple threats like drones, missile barrages, and artillery.
Eyal Shapira of IAI highlighted the MMR's track record in safeguarding lives and stressed the partnership with Czech firms for enhanced aerial surveillance and technology sharing. This cooperation not only elevates the Czech Republic's defense capabilities but also ensures interoperability with NATO systems.
