BAGHDAD - Iran will begin exporting natural gas to to several areas in Iraq after a visit to Erbil by an Iranian delegation intent on boosting economic ties between the two countries. Exports to Baghdad could begin as early as May depending on the security situation, with Basra following in 2016 according to the National Iranian Gas Exports Company. The two countries signed agreements in 2013 to supply three power plants in Baghdad and Diyala. The planned pipeline could deliver up to 35 million cubic meters of gas daily.
