ST PETERSBURG - Russia may be seeing delays in completion of some of its new Gorshkov-class frigates due to the Ukraine's ban on military exports to Russia. Six ships are under contract but the third and fourth ships will probably see their completion pushed back because the M90FR gas turbines powering them come from Ukraine.

These engines were developed through collaboration with NPO Saturn which will now be responsible for producing the machinery alone. NPO Saturn reportedly will have the capability to produce and test the turbines by 2017.
