JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - APR Energy has acquired a 200-MW expansion of its original 250-MW contract in Libya, making it the single largest contract ever signed in the fast-track power industry.
The expansion, which brings the contracted total generation capacity to 450 MW, supplements the 250 MW of mobile gas turbines originally contracted.
The turnkey power solution will help cover anticipated power demand during the critical summer high heat season, as well as provide interim power while the country continues to rebuild and improve its infrastructure.
This brings APR Energy's total new contract wins this year to 553 MW. This compares with 569 MW of contract wins in the whole of 2012. The current order book (backlog of business) stands at over 14,823 MW-months, up 28 percent from December 31, 2012.
