ZUMPANGO, Mexico - Cascade Aerospace of British Columbia, Canada, has delivered a modernized C-130K transport aircraft to the Mexican Air Force. The aircraft was officially delivered on April 23.
Cascade was awarded a contract in November 2013 for the modernization of two of Mexico's C-130Ks. Work began in March 2014.
An initial test flight of one of the modernized aircraft was successfully conducted just last month, the company reported.
The modernization program involved the design and installation of a complete upgrade for the cockpit avionics, including the integration of the Rockwell Collins Flight 2 avionics suite. A new auxiliary power unit has also been installed.
