NEWTOWN, Conn. - Bombardier is evaluating Pratt & Whitney's fix to the oiling system that grounded the CSeries test fleet for two months. The airframer may request more information before accepting Pratt's solution, according to excutives.
Pierre Beaudoin, Bombardier's chief executive said "We should make a decision shortly," says Beaudoin. "That's why we continue to say [a return to flight is possible] within weeks. We may have some more questions to Pratt before we make a decision. But we've made substantial progress because Pratt has proposed a solution to return to flight."
Bombardier still expects to hold to its plans for service entry in 2015's second half. Bombardier has been performing ground testing for the certification program since the engine incident.
