NEWTOWN, Conn. - The Dutch Ministry of Defense has agreed to sell three recently retired Agusta-Bell AB412 helicopters to Peru.

The search-and-rescue helicopters were retired from service on December 31. According to a press release issued by the Dutch MoD on January 19, the three helicopters will be supplied along with a package of spare parts, test equipment, and special tools.

A contract is expected to be signed at the end of the month, the statement said.

The Peruvian Air Force recently requested eight Bell 412EP helicopters from the U.S. for search and rescue and logistics support applications. However, no further action has been reported. The requirement will now be partially filled by the AB412s.
