MOSCOW - HeliVert, a joint venture between Russian Helicopters (a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of State Corporation Rostec) and AgustaWestland, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Exclases Russia for three AW139 helicopters in a VIP configuration.
The aircraft will be assembled at HeliVert and delivered according to a schedule to be determined at contract signature. HeliVert and Exclases previously signed a contract for five helicopters in May 2013 that is being fulfilled on schedule.
The first AW139 assembled in Russia made its debut flight in December 2012. Aircraft produced at HeliVert are marketed to customers across Russia and other CIS countries. They can also be equipped with Russian-produced components to meet the demands of Russian government users and local operators.
HeliVert is located at Russian Helicopters' National Helicopter Development Centre (NHDC). It was built from scratch, and today is one of the most advanced facilities of its type in Russia.
