FI: U.S. ARMY FORECAST TO SPEND $ 986 MILLION ON MCS PROGRAM
NEWTOWN, Conn. - The Maneuver Control System (MCS) is the U.S. Army's command, control, and communications system used in command posts from corps to battalion. The MCS provides the U.S. Army commander and his staff with automated C3 at and between echelons. Forecast International projects the U.S. Army will spend approximately $986 million on Maneuver Control System development, operation, and maintenance activities over the next ten years. The need to provide U.S. Army commanders and their staffs with information that can be used to direct forces on the battlefield is driving the abundant funding stream.
Forecast International projects that R&D spending will average around $20 million a year from FY15 through FY17.
