PARIS - BAE Systems has teamed up with BRADAR to develop a new radar for the Brazilian Navy's future Tamandaré corvette. The radar is based on BAE's Artisan (Advanced Radar Target Indication Situational Awareness and Navigation) 3D radar.

The Artisan 3D Type 997 radar is a medium range next-generation system developed by BAE. The radar has a nominal range of 200 kilometers (110 nautical miles) and the proven ability to search more than 800 objects at a time.

The partnership for development was announced at Euronaval 2014 in Paris.
