NEW DELHI - The Indian Navy has opened negotiations with Russian shipbuilders for three more Project 1135 class frigates. If the contractual agreements are finalized, this will bring the number of Project 1135s built in Russia for the Indian Navy to nine. In addition, the Indian Navy is building seven derivatives of the Project 1135 design in Indian shipyards.
