WASHINGTON - The United States Department of State has approved the potential sale of 160 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles to Pakistan for an estimated total cost of $198 million. The potential contract also encompasses the requirements of crew training, vehicle maintenance and additional component procurement.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the mandated certification to congress on September 19th.
According to the Pakistani Government, the 160 vehicle order is to be comprised of 110 MaxxPro Dash DXM, 30 MaxxPro Base DXM, 10 MaxxPro Recovery Vehicles outfitted with additional protective armor and 10 MaxxPro Dash DXM Ambulances. Navistar Defense Corporation will be the primary contractor for the deal.
