NEWTOWN, Conn. - L-3 KEO's line of universal modular mast (UMM) systems should be produced steadily over the next several years for the U.S. Navy and other select clients. The periscope is a vital part of the Navy's Virginia (SSN-774) class submarine, which is scheduled to remain in production well into the next decade.

L-3 KEO mast production is also expected to continue for a few notable international client nations. Under a $73.8 million order from the Spanish Navy, four mast sets will be produced for the Scorpene S-80 submarine at the same one-per-year rate as for the U.S. Navy's Virginia program.

A report on L-3 KEO's mast program is available from Forecast International.
