LIBREVILLE - Gabon has purchased French-made unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). The military of Gabon will receive the Nerva LG wheeled UGV as part of a larger purchase of 12 Aravis armored vehicles. Nexter manufactures these systems. These systems will equip Gabon's battalion serving with the United Nations mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
The Nexter Robotics' Nerva LG UGV will perform reconnaissance and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) route clearance missions. The vehicle is throwable and waterproof.
The first customer for the Nerva LG UGV was Myanmar. Myanmar purchased the civilian version of the Nerva UGV in February 2014.
Customers for the Aravis include the French Army and Saudi Arabia.
