TOULOUSE, France - ATR has received certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for its new ATR 72-600 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) based at ATR’s Paris Training Center.

The brand new FFS was manufactured by TRU Simulation + Training and is conveniently located close to Charles de Gaulle airport, which provides connections to any worldwide destination. With ATR operators expected to need around 1,000 new pilots per year, the new simulator will increase ATR’s capacity to offer its customers increased pilot training solutions for the turboprop regional airliner. "This certification represents another step on our journey to constantly develop our offer to our operators," said Tom Anderson, Senior Vice-President Programs and Customer Services of ATR. "As ATR’s worldwide fleet size continues to grow it is logical that there will be an increased demand for ATR pilots. The entry into service of a new ATR 72-600 Full Flight Simulator helps ensure that our customers will be able quickly benefit from training solutions that are easily accessible from their respective bases of operations." ATR currently has training centers based in Toulouse, Paris, Johannesburg, Singapore and Miami. The latter opened in February 2017 to respond to the increasing presence of ATRs in the Americas. ATR is delivering more than 100,000 training hours per year.
