Gas Turbine Combined Cycle Plant Explosion in Middletown, Conn. ⋅ 

NEWTOWN, Conn. - A fatal explosion occurred at the Kleen Energy Systems 620-MW Siemens dual-fuel combined cycle power plant on Sunday, February 7. News sources report a major natural gas explosion on unit purging, resulting in at least five fatalities and scores of injured, with search-and-rescue efforts continuing.
