SAO JOSE DOS CAMPOS - Embraer has received steep approach certification for a member of its E-Jets family, the E190, to operate at London City airport (LCY). The Embraer 170 received the same certification in 2007 and is currently operated by British Airways at LCY.
The E190 uses a software solution developed on the existing fly-by-wire system, which, says Embraer, means better flight qualities and control, reduced pilot workload, and lower fuel consumption. The range of the E190 out of LCY is over 800 nautical miles (1,500 km), covering all current routes and bringing European business destinations within reach.
